Dear Friends,

With the support of 75 members who have joined in the past year, we have had additional vital funds to help pay our rent, support 18 ASSEMBLIES, sustain 40 residents in our Collective Residency, present six original programs and 27 community events featuring over 100 local and visiting artists, and of course, work together to create a centrally-located accessible cultural space in a city that continues to push the most marginalized among us to the edges.

In addition to support from our members, we’ve managed to sustain NAVEL thus far through private rental income, countless hours of volunteer work, and additional small donations from community members.

However, the reality is that the cost to provide space and pay artists and participants fairly, while keeping tickets and workshop fees at an accessible price, has quickly outgrown our bank account.

In order to build a sustainable future for NAVEL, one thing is clear: We can only do this together.

Through all of our endeavors we cultivate and promote kinship because we believe it is our antidote to a status quo that keeps us from working together to imagine and actualize more just and creative futures.
